Dear Parents and Students of IDA:
 
We are very excited to announce the plans for our annual spring dance concerts. Our shows will again be at Montgomery County Community College. The theater is in the Science Center Building. Go in the main entrance to the college on Morris Road and park in the Morris Road lot. The building is the first building you see at the top of the hill. All dancers in K-1st and older classes are invited to participate. There are 5 separate shows. Attached you will find a ‘show breakdowns’ sheet which states which classes will be performing on which dates and at what times. There will be a maximum of 6 tickets per student allowed to be purchased per show at this time. Please fill out and detach the ticket order form and send back with a check for $15 per ticket to IDA (Discounts for additional show noted below). We will likely have extra tickets and you can request to be on the waiting list for extra tickets at this time. You will be informed via e-mail if your extra tickets are available. Seating will be assigned in the order that forms and checks are received. All ticket orders must be received by March 15th. There is a mandatory dress rehearsal at MONTCO on Fri. May 29th. The schedule for dress rehearsal will be as follows:
 
SHOWS 1 & 2: 4:00 – 6:15 PM
SHOWS 3: 6:30 – 7:30 PM
SHOW 4: 7:30 – 9:15 PM
SAT. SHOW: 8:45 – 11:00 PM
 
Being on time is extremely important so we can run on schedule. Parents should walk kids in and then come back for pick up. Students will be well-supervised and have a great time watching a movie and seeing other classes dance.
 
ALL STUDENTS MUST STAY FOR THEIR FULL DRESS REHEARSAL TIME. NO ONE IS PERMITTED TO LEAVE EARLY. THIS IS FOR THE SAFETY AND SUPERVISION OF EVERY STUDENT.
 
There is a $45 participation fee per student dancing in the concerts due by March 15th. This fee is to help cover costs of the shows including rental of the theater, lights, sound, and the staff. On the ‘show breakdowns’ sheet you will also find costume necessity information. The items listed are costume pieces that each student must provide for her/ himself. The students will borrow the rest of the costume from IDA and will return these costumes immediately following the show. There will be a fee charged for any costume not returned. We strongly encourage all students to participate in the concerts. It promises to be a delightful weekend of dance for all. If your child will not be participating please inform the studio by February 15th. Please note that all accounts must be up to date and all tuition paid in full in order for students to receive a costume and tickets
 
All show information and updates can be found on the Fort Washington page of our website instituteofdanceartistry.com. Go to the menu and move the mouse, or swipe over the ‘Classes’ selection. Click or tap ‘Fort Washington’, then click or tap the ‘Spring Performances’ tab. Also please e-mail idadance@comcast.net with any questions. Please remember to call the dance studio or check the website before coming to class on days of bad weather.
